Movers: what moved on the shelf and what changed alongside it

The Movers page is the change log for your category. It shows every rank move between two captures — climbs, falls, new entrants, re-entries and drop-offs — laid beside the other things that changed at the same time.

Movement is the signal

A best-seller shelf is a ranking, and rankings only tell you something when you watch them move. Knowing that a competitor is ranked #12 is trivia. Knowing they climbed from #20 to #12 in a week, while cutting price and adding a deal badge, is a competitive event you can respond to.

The rank change bars tell you how many places each product has moved, and - depending on your view - whether this rank is new, falling or rising.

The column to the left of the rank change bar shows Coincident Changes: how the price, ratings and reviews correlate to the rank - click into each to see an indicative graph.  Move from Compact to Cards on the toolbar and you will see a reason for the rank change, under the product name.

Filtering the movement metrics

The table shows you where everything sits - you can filter your views using the toolbar at the top. All the information on this page is exportable - just hit the CSV button.

Description

A written read of the period: the overall churn picture, the most significant single entry, the biggest climb and the steepest fall, and any variant-level pattern worth noticing — for example one colourway of a product climbing while another slips, which points at consumer preference shifting within a range rather than at the range as a whole.

Watch-outs

Drop-offs are not the same as delistings — a product can fall out of the tracked top 50 while remaining perfectly available, so check the Stock page before concluding a competitor has gone. Re-entries inflate the "new" count if you do not separate them. And the coincident changes shown next to a move are exactly that: things that happened at the same time, offered as context for your judgement rather than as an explanation.
