Connecting Rove to your AI Assistant

Connect Rove to Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot Studio, and you can ask your AI assistant about your Scan reports, Competitor Intelligence trackers, and Competitor Monitoring watchlists. It takes a few minutes, and you only do it once.

Checklist before you start:

  • A Rove account. You sign in with the same email and password you use for Rove.
  • Access for your company. Rove switches the connector on for each company. If it isn't on for yours, contact support@go-rove.com.
  • ChatGPT plan (if you are connecting Chat GPT). The connector works in ChatGPT's developer mode, which OpenAI offers on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu plans. In a ChatGPT workspace, an administrator may need to allow custom apps first.
  • In Copilot, a Studio agent. In Copilot, you add Rove to an agent you build in Microsoft Copilot Studio. Each person who uses that agent then connects their own Rove login.
  • The connector address. https://mcp.go-rove.com/mcp

The connector only reads. It can't run reports, spend credits, or change anything in Rove, and it only shows what your own Rove login can see. It doesn't include billing or account details.

Connect to your AI Assistant

  • Claude. Add a custom connector with the address https://mcp.go-rove.com/mcp. In a Claude organisation, an owner adds it in the organisation's connector settings first, then each member connects it from their own settings.
  • ChatGPT. Turn on developer mode, then add Rove as a custom app with the address https://mcp.go-rove.com/mcp.
  • Microsoft Copilot Studio. In your agent, add a new tool and choose Model Context Protocol. Enter a server name that uses only letters, numbers, hyphens, or underscores, such as “Rove”, and the server address https://mcp.go-rove.com/mcp. For authentication, choose OAuth 2.0, then Dynamic discovery. Select Add to agent.

Sign in to Rove and approve access

Your assistant opens Rove's sign-in page. Sign in if you aren't already. In Copilot Studio, each person who uses the agent starts this step by selecting Open connection manager and connecting Rove.

The next page shows which app is asking for access, what it will be able to read, and the account and company it will use. Copilot appears as Microsoft Copilot. Check them, then select Approve.

💡 Note: Disconnecting in your assistant stops it using this connection. Rove also ends any connection left unused for 30 days. Your assistant may keep data it already received in its conversations or history.

Ask about your Rove data

Back in your assistant, ask a question, for example “Which of my trackers changed most since the last refresh?” or “Summarise my latest Market Intelligence report for Germany”.

Your assistant reads Rove when it needs to, so answers reflect your data at that moment. The connection stays in place until you disconnect it or leave it unused for 30 days. After that, connect again with the same steps.

If something doesn't work

  • Your assistant says Rove has switched connector access off for your company, or it doesn't have access to any tools. Contact support@go-rove.com.
  • Copilot says the sign-in has expired. Microsoft allows about five minutes to sign in to Rove and approve. Select Open connection manager again and approve within that time.
  • Two Scan products have the same name. Rove treats them as separate products, such as different sizes or packs. Ask about the one you mean by its brand, size, or the date you added it.

💡 Note: For IT teams: the Rove connector is a remote MCP server at https://mcp.go-rove.com/mcp. Sign-in goes through Rove's own sign-in service, and each connection is approved by the person who uses it. Copilot Studio registers with Rove automatically through dynamic discovery, so Rove doesn't issue a client ID or secret.
